| My name is Marie Bucoy and I belong to Mrs. Krupnick's 4th grade G.A.T.E. (Gifted and Talented Education) class. I am 10 years old and I am very interested in the World Wide Web. We were assigned an Independent Research Report. I decided to research Christmas around the world. We were required to use the World Wide Web to get information. It really helped me a lot! I learned different ways to say "Merry Christmas" in different lands. That encouraged me to run a contest for my class to guess which 'Merry Christmas" belongs to which country! It was fun!

My name is Lindsay Kemp. My class and I each did our own independent research reports, and I researched the king of the jungle, the Lion. I got to go on the Internet and found a lot of great stuff, read it, and then printed all of it. I got great pictures and a lot of information.
I learned that when a lion cub is about one year old, the father chases the cub away and the cub is on his own. I also learned that when the cub is out on his own he looks for other prides, and when he finds one he fights the male leader. The winner stays with the pride and the loser goes off and will maybe will come back to fight in years to come. I also learned that there is only one male in each pride, and that females and males are usually able to mate at the age of three.

| My name is Allison Vicencio and I did an independent research report on dolphins. I used the Internet to find information for my report. I went to lots of different web pages. The one I used most was about Bottle-nosed Dolphins, and it helped that portion of my report. I learned how many miles per hours a Bottle-nosed Dolphin can swim, how long it can grow, and how much it weighs.
Here is the address for the Bottle-nosed Dolphin site: |
