On behalf of the Friends of the Library, the
Library Board of Trustees and the library staff, I'd like to thank the San
Bernardino Golf Club for sponsoring the Second Annual Friends of the Library
Golf Tournament and Book Faire. The tournament held on Friday, October 29.
The event was the result of Sue Payne, California Room docent and SBGC employee,
and Tom Self, SBGC general manager, working tirelessly to promote the tournament,
recruit golfers and secure prizes and tee signs. I'd also like to extend my thanks to PJ Bacon and her book sale committee and to Eric Kessler for organizing the silent auction. The success of this event helps to assure that the people of San Bernardino will continue to enjoy life-long learning, cultural enrichment, and all other aspects of the life of the mind that the library offers.
